Hi there, I’m matt
I've was a primary school teacher for seven years before starting tutoring in 2020. I have taught across all of KS2 and also have experience preparing children for the 11+ exams.

a bit about me
I left teaching in 2023 to focus on tutoring full time. I have always loved working with children and tutoring allows me to really tap into each child's learning style and interests to build a genuine connection with them.
I have taught across all primary year groups with a focus on KS2 throughout my career, including Year 6.

I enjoy working with children 1:1 as I can tailor their learning to what they need and what they enjoy - whether that is incorporating their love of unicorns into writing activities or really challenging them with maths problem solving!
​
In addition to improving my student's skills, I focus on building their confidence which gives them so much more enjoyment in each subject and the ability to achieve more - whatever that looks like to them.
​
How we work and what we focus on is a combination of three things - your child's learning style, what you would like us to focus on and where I identify gaps in their knowledge. We will check in briefly after each session and in more depth every month or so.

I have a full DBS check and all relevant insurance which you are welcome to see.
​
Outside of teaching, I have a keen interest in sport, DIY and run an interior design studio, Ches & Co, with my partner.
Our studio is based on West Street in Buckingham.

We have created a relaxing feel for the children to work in and can tailor the environment to their preferences. They can sit at the table or in an armchair depending on wherever they are most comfortable and we can play music or audio books if that helps them to concentrate. There will always be water or squash available.
